Rhythm Rider

Music Sharing app

Overview

Rhythm Rider is a UX solution designed to eliminate flow-state disruption for dedicated cyclists. It solves the safety and performance risk of touch-based controls by implementing a Hands-Free Control System using a minimalist UI and gesture/voice commands. The result is a safe, consistent, and performance-optimizing audio experience.

Problem Statement

  • Dedicated cyclists struggle to maintain their performance flow because current app controls force them to break rhythm, look away, and introduce a safety risk.

UX Research

User Surveys:

Surveyed users to gain insights into their preferences and challenges.

Main Findings:

  • Offline is Mandatory: Users highly value Offline listening and High-quality audio. This means the app must be reliable even without a cellular signal

  • Activity Matters: Users are interested in music based on their mood or activity. This validates the core feature of Rhythm Rider—matching the music's tempo (BPM) to the user's cycling pace/intensity.

  • Control is Crucial: Users require seamless Playlist organization and management. This underscores the need for low-friction controls (like gestures) to manage tracks quickly while in motion.

Does
